Oncology Clinical Specialist - Full-Time Permanent Position. 
Oncology Clinical Specialist Position Summary:
The Oncology Clinical Specialist is responsible for assisting in the planning, organization and direction of clinical pharmaceutical services and the inpatient setting to achieve high quality standard of care in Oncology related pharmacy services throughout the continuum. A successful candidate will participate in multidisciplinary teams related to clinical pharmacy initiatives. This individual will also achieve and maintain participatory management of clinical pharmacy initiatives in partnership with the other pharmacy Clinical Specialists. Pharmacy Clinical Specialists develop and maintain satisfactory working relationships with pharmacy leadership, pharmacy staff and other departments and offices throughout the system, including colleagues, committee participants and administrators. The successful candidate will place a strong emphasis on patient care with the patient as the highest priority and central focus in all endeavors and undertakings of the individual and the department.

Oncology Clinical Specialist Position Description/Duties: 
  • Provide specialized pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes for patients.
  • Review and recommend enhancements to the Oncology module (Beacon) of the EHR (Epic) to improve the provider and pharmacist workflow within treatment plans, maximizing this tool to optimize patient safety.
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy managers in developing training and education programs and evaluation processes for Oncology related clinical activities performed by the pharmacist staff.
  • Prepares formulary review and drug use evaluations of medications used in Hematology and Oncology for presentation. 
Oncology Pharmacist Requirements:
  • PharmD and 2-5+ years’ experience as an Oncology Pharmacist or BS in Pharmacy with equivalent oncology experience in lieu of PharmD
  • PGY2 in Oncology of completion of a post-graduate fellowship in Oncology, preferred 
  • PA Pharmacist license in good standing with the board
  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)
  • Must pass required competency exams
  • Must possess strong ethical standards
  • EPIC experience
  • Beacon experience or oncology module experience
