Jackson Pharmacy Professionals is a nationwide pharmacy-specific staffing and placement company. We are currently hiring for a full-time contract Pharmacist in Charge. This is a 3-6+ month contract. Our ideal candidate will have prior mail order experience, 2 years of managerial experience and an active license in PA. Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) Position Summary:
  • The Pharmacist in Charge is responsible for management of all operations of the Mail Order and Specialty Pharmacy, including prescription and fulfillment processes from receipt of a prescription through shipment. As the Pharmacy Leader, the PIC is ultimately accountable for the care of our patients in accordance with our mission and all work is directed by the PIC.
 
Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) Responsibilities:
  • Manage all employees within the hierarchical structure in the pharmacy, including both direct and indirect reports with varying levels of experience and education.
  • Ensure prescriptions ship with the highest level of accuracy and within aggressive turnaround times, as required by our clients.
  • Participate as a decision maker in Senior Management meetings
  • Maintain the compliance of the facility through knowledge regarding changing regulatory landscape and directing required changes in process or system.
  • Oversee all required client, member and financial level reporting
  • Maintain active pharmacist licenses and obtain new licenses as required.
  • Operate in the system effectively in order to verify prescription accuracy, monitor status of shipments and assist members with inquiries.
  • Provide attention to customer, ensuring that both medical professionals and patients are responded to with accurate and timely information.
  • Ensure appropriate inventory on hand at all times; manage physical and controlled inventory as required.
  • Ability to work in teams, providing leadership to enable timely completion of assigned work requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or PharmD (minimum)
  • Previous Pharmacy Management Experience required (minimum 2 years)
  • Previous Mail Order or Specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Active license in good standing to practice pharmacy in Pennsylvania
  • Active licenses in additional states and/or willingness and ability to obtain licenses in other states as required.
  • Knowledge of and skilled in use and operation of computers
  • Compassionate with desire to help patients
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly communicate and deal with members, clients, employees, and other health care professionals
  • Analytical ability to interpret information and recommend solutions
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
  • Ability to manage pharmacists, pharmacist managers, operational managers and pharmacy technicians.
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Able to adapt schedule with little, if any notice.
